Last year Telstra wrote to all Telstra Payment Card holders advising that the Card will be discontinued. Licensees were concerned that the withdrawal of this service would mean that customers could no longer pay part-payments of their Telstra account, which could put financial stress on some Telstra customers.POAAL wrote to the Minister for Communications, Senator Stephen Conroy, who has recently responded to POAAL. He advises that he took the matter up with Telstra, and Telstra has now advised him that customers can still make part payments (minimum of $20) at post offices and Telstra shops using the barcode on the bill, instead of the Telstra Payment Card.Licensees may wish to advise Telstra Payment Card holders of this option, so that customers can continue to pay their Telstra invoices at the LPO.
