Postal workers in the UK will go on strike today. The dispute relates to pay and network modernisation.This will be the first national postal strike in the UK for 11 years.The UK's postal workers union, the CWU, called the action after turning down Royal Mail's offer of a 2.5 per cent pay increase. The CWU also fears that restructuring plans could mean up to 40,000 job losses.Royal Mail said it could not afford a higher pay settlement and that it needs to make itself more efficient in response to increased competition in the postal market.
