All you have to do is pay for membership and take at least one insurance product on the POAAL form by 15 June 2011.Some of POAAL’s achievements in the last 12 months:

  • AUSTRAC fees – POAAL successfully fought the proposed $500 annual AUSTRAC fee and the $1.06 report fees.
  • Increase in LPO payments – Australia Post agreed to increase a range of LPO payments in 2010/11, including National and State Billpay, banking, passport renewals, ID&V transactions, Mail Service Payment, and various non-standard payments.
  • Increase in postage – POAAL supported Australia Post’s request for an increase in the BPR, with all the benefits that flow on to Licensees.
  • Return of Christmas stamps – Australia Post agreed to POAAL’s push for AP to accept returns of unused 2010 Christmas stamps.

And right now we’re working on some big projects that will improve Licensees’ businesses:

  • Carded parcels – POAAL is in intensive and complex discussions with Australia Post on carded parcels, including procedures, technology and remuneration.
  • LPO stock supply – POAAL is in continuing talks with Australia Post regarding improving all aspects of LPO stock supply, including invoicing, timeframes, advices, stock availability and credit management.
  • CEPOS – POAAL representatives have been involved in testing and feedback on the new CEPOS system.

POAAL is actively seeking Licensees’ input on these three matters. Keep the information flowing to POAAL so that we can raise issues on your behalf. And in addition to those matters, we’re continuing our lobbying on installing Australia Post’s point-of-sale system at manual LPOs.Your POAAL membership funds all the work that POAAL does for Licensees.
