PhilPost, the Phillipine Postal Corporation, has been authorised to become part of the system for the issuing of ID cards. Personal data such as fingerprints, facial images and signatures will be captured at post offices for use under the Unified Multipurpose Identification System.There are over 2,200 post offices in the Phillipines. PhilPost will set up "data capture workstations" at post offices as well as social security branches across the country.PhilPost joins a growing number of national postal corporations offering ID collection and verification services.
