Meeting With Australia Post Retail

POAAL representatives met with National and State Retail Managers at Australia Post headquarters today. It was a positive and helpful meeting. POAAL clarified the position of Licensees and Franchisees in the Australia Post retail network, and reminded Australia Post of the value of privately owned Post Offices to its network.We recognise that change is a constant in this day and age, and Australia Post and its Licensees must be flexible in the face of change. We pointed out that the LPO Agreement has sufficient flexibility to meet changes as they occur and to meet individual LPO requirements through use of the Special Conditions clauses. We strongly suggested that Australia Post Retail Managers encourage Area and Network Managers to make themselves more familiar with the LPO Agreement and the LPO Payment Scheme as it would appear that some of them are making fundamental errors in understanding the Agreement.We will be meeting with Australia Post again at this level and trust that this will help build a positive and constructive interstate relationship to the benefit of Licensees and Australia Post.
