LPOs in mining areas

A number of Licensees at LPOs in mining areas are experiencing severe difficulties in finding and retaining staff to work in their LPO (or on their mail contract, in some cases). The higher wages offered by the local mines are tempting counter and delivery staff away from LPOs. It is impossible for Licensees to match the wages offered by the mines and still maintain the profitability of the LPO.POAAL has met with Australia Post to raise this issue.
