The ACCC has published its preliminary view proposing to not object to Australia Post's proposed price increase for reserved ordinary letters.
Australia Post proposed increasing the basic postage rate by 15c, from $1.70 to $1.85, to take effect in mid-to-late 2026.
POAAL made a submission to the ACCC in response to Australia Post's draft price notification.
The ACCC has now opened a second round of consultation, which is open for another month.
At the end of the consultation period, and pending no objection from the ACCC, Australia Post will lodge a formal application with the ACCC.
