Australia Post plans to resume postal sending to the United States and its overseas territories on or before 25 September 2025.
In August, Australia Post temporarily partial suspended parcel services to the USA following the announcement that USA's de minimis exemption for low value parcels would cease on 29 August 2025. Many other postal operators around the world also announced they would no longer be able to accept and transport parcels and postal items containing goods from business customers destined for the US.
Gifts valued under US$100, letters and documents were unaffected by this change.
Australia Post has since announced it is working with Zonos, one of a limited number of authorised US Customs and Border Protection and Universal Postal Union third-party providers, to offer Australia Post Business Contract and My Post Business customers a duty collection solution to allow the resumption of deliveries to the US.
Australia Post is working on a separate solution to allow customers to send parcels to the US via the post office network, including Licensed Post Offices (LPOs).
Business customers seeking more information on sending parcels to the USA should visit the Australia Post website.
