Australia Post proposes basic postage rate increase

Australia Post has lodged a draft Price Notification with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), proposing an increase to the basic postage rate (BPR), from $1.70 to $1.85

The price of Concession Stamps will not change. From 2 February 2026 the number of concession stamps that eligible customers can purchase will increase from 50 to 75.

Australia Post is not proposing changes to seasonal greetings card stamps, which will continue to be priced at $0.65.

It is proposed that the price increase take effect in mid-to-late 2026.
