Melbourne meeting

Roger Revere, Australia Post's Vic/Tas Regional Manager, was guest speaker at two POAAL meetings in Victoria, where he gave an overview of the current state of the Australian postal market. Roger was joined by Area Manager Barbara Young, who updated Licensees on some current matters.

New Australia Post Director

June 3, 2013

Former Commissioner of Taxation Michael D’Ascenzo has been appointed to the Australia Post board. Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy, recently announced Mr D'Ascenzo's appointment, along with the reappointment of the Hon Trish White and the appointment of Mr Brendan Fletcher as Deputy Chairman.

ACCC finds no cross-subsidy in Australia Post

The ACCC has issued its eighth report assessing cross-subsidy between the services provided by Australia Post. The report found that the reserved service (60c stamp) is not subsidising any part of Australia Post’s business.

Payment for scanning carded items

March 31, 2013

POAAL has recently completed another step in its ongoing discussions with Australia Post regarding carded articles at LPOs. POAAL and Australia Post have agreed to a trial for payment to Licensees for delivery scans of carded articles (where the Licensee receives the carded article payment). This payment for scanning is in addition to the carded article fee.

Perth Business Seminar
