The beautiful West Tamar region is a short drive from Launceston and has scenic views and many wineries and eating places. From the gold mine at Beaconsfield to spectacular Grindelwald, there is plenty to see in this area.

Right in the city of Launceston are many places of interest, including: the beautiful Cataract Gorge with its chair lift and suspension bridge, and restaurant; the museum at Inveresk; the automobile museum; the Design Centre; Boags Brewery; the Gunpowder mill; Franklin House; golf courses; the board walk - the list is extensive.

Why not take a day and visit the Barnbougle Links golf course in north east Tasmania, or travel to the North West and take a chairlift up the Nut? Or send your family to the market at historic Evandale on the Sunday morning.

Or take a cruise along the Tamar River. Tamar River Cruises offer multiple cruises daily, giving visitors a chance to explore Launceston's famous Cataract Gorge. The cruises are a great way to immerse yourself in the landscape and history of Launceston and the Tamar Valley. Visit their website at www.tamarrivercruises.com.au. Tamar River Cruises are giving away a double pass at the Conference for an Afternoon Discovery Cruise - all Conference delegates are in with a chance to win!
